The price cap is set to rise again by 6.4% on 1 April for those on standard price-capped tariffs. This follows a 1% rise in January and 10% last October. For a typical household paying by Direct Debit that's an increase from £1,738 to £1,849 a year.

If you're not on a fixed deal, you'll almost certainly be on a price-capped tariff so it might be worth considering to switch to a fixed deal.
