Rubbish and recycling

Rubbish and recycling

Clearing rubbish

As well as maintaining your garden, you must keep it free of rubbish at all times.

Nottingham City Council offers a range of services including:

  • Bin collections
  • collections of white goods such as cookers, fridges and freezers
  • collection of bulky items
  • collection of household, garden and clinical waste
  • recycling of household waste
  • skip hire.

There is a charge for some of these services. Please visit the Nottingham City Council website for more details.

Home composting

If you’d like to convert your food and garden waste into compost, there’s a guide to how to do so on the city council website.

There are two main recycling sites in Nottingham – one at Calverton, and one on the Lenton industrial estate. There are also smaller, local recycling sites across the city.
