Creating homes and places where people want to live

Nottingham is a vibrant, multicultural, young city. Over 40% of the people who live here are under 25 – nearly half! We want to empower the younger generation to work together and bring about positive change in the city for the benefit of themselves and their community. Helping to create homes and places where people want to live.

There are lots of ways you can get involved to help make a difference, so if you’re under 25 and want to strengthen your voice, skills and community – we want to hear from you! Here is what’s on offer:

GeneratioNCH Youth Panel
Through our Tenant’s Charter we want tenants of all ages to have their voices heard and to be treated with respect. We’re looking for young NCH tenants aged between 14 and 24 years old to join our brand new GeneratioNCH Youth Panel.

By joining you can help shape NCH including the development of a Young Community Champion programme in recognition of the positive impact that young people have in their neighbourhoods

Through the panel you’ll have the opportunity to explore and share your views on a number of key themes including how NCH supports young people across the city into work and training and how you can support us in making sure that young people’s views are heard and acted upon.  You’ll also have the chance to hear about the stories and successes of other inspirational young people and leaders.

The first of our regular, online panel meeting will take place on Tuesday 7 December at 4pm via Zoom. Interested? Email us for an invite. If you’re under 18 please first seek your parent’s permission before attending.

The Tenant Academy
We offer free training and development through the NCH Tenant Academy. There are always lots of accredited and personalised courses on offer to help you develop new skills and interests.

Our Employability team can also help you prepare for work by offering support with CV writing and interview skills, apprenticeships and traineeships.

Show us your talent!
We know our young people are creative, crafty and talented so we run talent contests and competitions throughout the year to celebrate. Keep an eye out on this page for our next competition - coming soon!

Youth Champion
If you’re passionate about where you live and want to give something back to your community then you might want to consider becoming a Youth Champion. You could:

  • help organise or take part in green events, to make over a green space, park or street near to where you live
  • set up Legendary Litter day to clean up your estate or parks
  • become a digital champion and share your digital skills to help build confidence online in our 60’s – helping them to stay more connected to family and friends.

To find out more about any or all of these opportunities just fill out a registration form by clicking on the button below. A member of the team will be in touch soon.
