Improving your home

Improving your home

We’ve already invested millions of pounds in bringing all NCH homes up to the Government's Decent Homes standard.

Since 2010, we’ve:

  • Installed over 14,500 bathrooms – that’s enough baths to cover the pitch at Wembley twice

  • Fitted over 19,000 kitchens – if you were invited to dinner cooked in every kitchen we’ve fitted, it’d take you until 2067 to get round them all

  • Fitted around 38,000 secure external doors that laid end to end would stretch from Nottingham to Lincoln

  • Fitted around 19,000 secure windows – that’s more windows than there are seats in Barcelona’s Nou Camp stadium.

This work continues across the city as we deliver our continuous planned maintenance programme. The programme includes things like fitting solar panels and insulating external walls, which not only make your home warmer, they also save you money on your bills.

If we’re going to be carrying out work in your area, we’ll let you know, and we’ll provide you with contact details so you can get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

We’re happy for you to put your own mark on your home as long as you get permission from us first –  email us  or write to:

Going green

In 2013, we won the UK Housing Awards’ Sustainable Landlord of the Year. The award recognised our ongoing commitment to making sure that our tenants live in homes that have minimal impact on the environment.

The impact of improving your home

We’ve carried out research to understand the impact that improvements we’ve made to our homes have had on both tenants and on the wider community.
