Tenants sat on bench with thumbs up

What does it mean to feel ‘at home’? Is it spending quality time with your family and friends? Is it having a strong sense of community in the area where you live? Is it simply relaxing in the comfort of your own home and watching TV?

Everybody will have a different answer and it’s this that we want to explore as the theme of our photography competition – which we’d love you to get involved in.

We’ll choose and display the winning photos in the next edition of NCH News, with all winners also receiving a £50 Intu voucher. All of our winners will also be put through to be judged in a national competition at the end of April.

What we're after

We’re looking for photos that capture what you feel is unique about your home, neighbourhood and communities and what it is that makes it feel like home to you.

We’re particularly looking for photos that challenge some of the stereotypes that can be associated with social housing – whether it’s through the sense of community you feel where you live, the types of jobs you do or anything that’s unique about where you live that makes you proud to call it home.

Photography workshops

We're holding two photography and social media workshops through the Tenant Academy, which could help you if you're thinking of entering. Click here for more information.

How to enter

Please email your photograph(s) to involved@nottinghamcityhomes.org.uk along with a short bit of information about the photograph, what it means to you and how you feel it shows how there is ‘no place like home’.

The photos need to be of a high enough quality so that they can be clearly printed when enlarged to A3. Please also provide your name, age and contact details. We need to have received your photos by Friday 28 February.

For more information, call us on 0115 746 9100.
