NCH staff walk for charity

12 July 2019

Staff from Nottingham City Homes are currently on a 24 hour long walk to raise money for the Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes.

The group is doing the sponsored walk around Nottingham and will be visiting offices and hospitals around the city along the way to try and raise funds.

They will be walking for 24 hours nonstop, after setting off this morning (Friday 12 July 2019) at 9am - they will walk straight through the night and will finish at the NCH Bulwell Housing Office at Bulwell Riverside on Saturday at 9am.

Some of the staff are walking the full 24hrs and they will joined by other team members on three hour stints throughout the day and night.

The group will make 14 stops at NCH offices across the 24 hrs, including housing offices in St Anns, Bestwood, Clifton, as well as stopping at NCH main sites at Harvey Road and Loxley House. The group will also visit Queens Medical Centre, the City Hospital and Highbury and Hopewood Hospitals.

Delia Cooper is one of the Housing Patch Managers taking part, she said: “We will be walking with collection boxes and we would love if people could donate to us on the way. We want to raise as much money as possible for this great charity. It’s going to be a tough one, but we knew we needed to so something challenging and big to show our support and hopefully help out the charity.”

Nick Murphy, Chief Executive at Nottingham City Homes, said: “It’s great that our staff members are doing something so vital by raising funds for the Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes.

“Staff at NCH chose a charity for the company to support and we are currently backing the Blood Bikes. I want to thank all the staff who are taking part in this challenge – you are all superstars.”
