As part of its Decent Neighbourhoods programme, NCH is creating an outdoor space for residents that will feature a range of different seating areas, timber raised beds, two wall murals, and carefully selected trees and planting to suit the urban environment. The garden will be directly above the shopping centre. Jonathan Shaw, Director of Investment and Business Services at NCH, said: “We’re delighted to be getting this project underway. There has always been an outdoor space for residents at Victoria Centre, but it needs to be brought back to life and made accessible and inspiring for those who live there.
“In consultation with the residents, the garden has been sympathetically designed to create a place people can go to relax, meet with friends, and enjoy a sunny day.”
NCH has been speaking to people who live in the Victoria Centre flats about the project, and a group of residents will help to maintain the garden once the works are complete.
