Invovlement Week and Tenant Fun Day

Involvement Week and Tenant Fun Day

Tenant Fun Day

Saturday 17th September, Bulwell Academy, Squires Avenue, Bulwell, NG6 8HG

11am till 3pm

The Fun Day will include opportunities to talk to NCH about the issues that really matter to tenants, along with lots of fun activities being held throughout the day, including games, bouncy castle, arts and crafts, graffiti artists, smoothie bikes, archery, climbing wall and lots more. A variety of free food options will also be available from midday on a first come, first served basis.

The event is also a chance for tenants and leaseholders to get help with training and employment opportunities, welfare reform changes and support for people who want to improve their local communities.

Get involved and have fun with Nottingham City Homes!

Ever since Nottingham City Homes (NCH) began in 2005, actively involving tenants and leaseholders has been central to the way the company is run. Engaging with tenants has led to record customer satisfaction levels, which would not have been possible without the contribution of thousands of Nottingham residents in a wide variety of ways.

Being involved and engaged can mean completing surveys, taking part in focus groups, being a part of a customer panel, joining the Tenant Academy, or even getting a place on the Nottingham City Homes Board.

From Monday 12th September to Saturday 17th September, NCH tenants and leaseholders who have contributed will be celebrated in the company’s first ever Involvement Week. A number of activities will be taking place throughout the week to give customers a taster of what it’s like to be involved - ending in a fantastic family Fun Day on Saturday.

Sherwood tenant and Chair of the Board, Janet Storar MBE, said: "Being involved with Nottingham City Homes has had a huge impact on my life. Not only do I feel I’ve been able to make a difference to the lives of my fellow tenants and leaseholders, I’ve also had the opportunity to further myself and gain qualifications and accolades, I could have only dreamed of.

"This is a tenant led organisation. From the very successful Secure Warm Modern housing improvement programme, to the introduction of our Tenant Academy, and many other events held throughout the year, tenants have been at the heart of the work NCH has carried out."

There’s so much happening during Involvement Week, from the chance to learn some new DIY skills, to finding out about saving money on your energy bills, taking part in taster sessions for the Tenant Academy and the Fit in the Community programme, to being a part of the annual Tenant Fun Day at the end of the week.

Nick Murphy, Chief Executive of Nottingham City Homes, said: "Last year hundreds of people came along to our Tenant Fun Day, which was fantastic to see. This year we want to make it even bigger and better, and have lots of different activities on offer for our tenants and leaseholders and their families .

"I would love to see lots more new faces joining us throughout the week to take part in the many activities we have on offer, and it would be great to hear from more people who want to join our fantastic team of involved tenants."
